Come out and play at the 22nd Annual Vancouver Queer Film Festival running from August 12 – August 22! Celebrate daring and distinctive queer cinema at the city’s second largest film festival. Screening at Emily Carr on Saturday, August 21, an archival classic and a film by Emily Carr alumni.

From out of the local vaults comes Gayblevision! Join us for a retrospective look at Vancouver’s first 100% gay and lesbian television series, initiated in early 1980s. Programmed by Mary Anne McEwen, discussion to follow.

Homelands
An autobiographical documentary pays homage to Canadian director Thirza Cuthand’s roots—a journey that takes her from the Writing-On-Stone of the Canadian Plains to Scotland’s Orkney Islands. World premiere, director in attendance.
