Whether it's the food, the theatre, or a walk through a magnificent piece of maritime and industrial history. Take your pick; there's plenty to go around.
- Visit the Public Market
Taste both local and exotic flavours as you wander through the counters, stands, and stalls set up by farmers, bakers, butchers, fishmongers, and eateries, as well as a diverse mix of crafts and dry goods vendors. Enjoy the buskers performing both inside and outside the buildings. Relax with a snack on a bench behind the Public Market and watch the boats, and the people, go by.
- Hop Into the Kids Market
The Kids Market and surrounding kid-friendly zone includes over 25 diverse and unique shops featuring toys and stuffed animals, kid's fashions, a giant indoor play area, ceramic painting, magic and juggling, a hair and beauty salon, an optical store, party gifts and even gourmet pet treats. Outside the Kids Market are the duck pond (watch for the turtles too!), the Crystal Ark filled with gorgeous gems and treasures, the Water Park, and playground areas. Fun for big kids and little kids!
- Take in a Show
Be wowed by daring and innovative improvisational comedy. Become absorbed by a modern interpretation of a classic play. Get engrossed in a contemporary theatrical masterpiece. Or be entertained by the casual buskers found among the Island's cobblestone streets.
- Eat!
Granville Island is famous for its eclectic mix of food and dining. Try some fresh fruit & veggies, baking, chocolates and cheese. Nibble some tasty eatery treats and drink some cool or hot refreshments. Or taste some of the innovative gourmet dishes at one of the Islands many restaurants; you'll definitely be able to satisfy all your cravings!

- Appreciate Art
Finished or in the making, you'll find artistic works dotted throughout the Island, for show and for sale. Many galleries of all kinds can be found here, from the student shows at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design to glassblowing, jewelry making, pottery, furniture making, and clothing design studios.
- Go for a Boat Ride
The southwest flank of the Island is home to the sprawling Maritime Market. Among various supply shops are instruction centers, river rafting and exotic tour companies, and boat rental kiosks. Skipper your own boat through picturesque False creek and around scenic English Bay. Or take a quick jaunt around the False Creek Inlet on a False Creek Ferry or Aquabus tour.

- Visit the Brewery
British Columbia's first "cottage" brewery was started right here on Granville Island, aptly named Granville Island Brewing Co. Take a tour of the taste-test facilities here, or check out the other ale flavours from Granville Island Hotel's own stock at the Dockside Restaurant.
- The Maritime Market
Sprawled across the southwest shore of the Island, you'll find anything and everything to do with the sea here, from museums, to boating supplies and clothing, to tours and fishing, not to mention a boat-builder or two.
- Attend the Festivities
Nearly every month there is a festival or event happening at Granville Island. Boasting three theatres, a multipurpose performance space called Performance Works, a popular outdoor amphitheatre at Ron Basford Park and a unique outdoor covered space called Ocean Art Works, festival activities are always going on, or being prepared. From music and theatre to literature and comedy, from arts and crafts to food celebrations. Don't miss out!
